  • 1 raw banana, peeled and chopped

  • A few curry leaves

  • 1 tbsp of grated coconut
  • 1 tbsp of ghee

  1. Wash and soak the toor dal for 30 minutes.
  2. In a pressure cooker, add the dal, water, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 5-6 whistles or until the dal is cooked.
  3. In a separate pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, dried red chilies, and curry leaves. Let them splutter.
  4. Add the chopped vegetables to the pan, along with grated ginger and grated coconut. Saute for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked dal to the pan and mix well. Add salt if needed.
  6. Add water if the dal is too thick.
  7. Let it simmer for 5-10 minutes on low flame.
  8. Add ghee and mix well.
  9. Serve hot with rice or roti. Enjoy!
